Our action now can help citizens access this natural medicine and avoid further pain.
Why now?
We're at a unique and pivotal time in our nation's history. An estimated 1 in 6 Americans are taking psychiatric medication, and there is a rampant epidemic of prescription drug abuse across the country. The need for powerful, medically-effective alternatives in addition to traditional pharmaceutical interventions is clear to all.
The citizen-led grassroots movement to decriminalize psilocybin mushrooms represents a new front in the psychedelic renaissance. Ordinary people are making a bold statement by taking power into their own hands to remove the unfounded restrictions on psychedelics. The bottom line is that no one should face severe criminal penalties for possessing, using, or cultivating a naturally-occurring substance.

Why Denver?
Denver is a robust, open, progressive metropolis that has been a leader in the United States when it comes to drug reform policy. Nationally, Denver and the state of Colorado have represented the first movers in a revised understanding of the potential benefits of naturally-occurring psychoactive medicines.
